The Tele Ophthalmology Society of India (TOSI) was officially launched on
4th April 2021 with the vision of promoting tele-ophthalmology and strengthening digital eye care services across India. The inauguration marked a significant milestone in advancing technology-enabled eye healthcare and fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals.

The launch ceremony was attended by distinguished leaders and eminent personalities from the fields of ophthalmology and telemedicine. The event witnessed the gracious presence of the President and Secretary of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), the President of the Telemedicine Society of India (TSI), internationally renowned experts in tele-ophthalmology, and the members of the Executive Committee of TOSI.

First Virtual Symposium on 1st May 2021. The symposium brought together
leading experts in telemedicine and tele-ophthalmology to discuss the growing role of digital healthcare
in improving access to quality eye care across India.

The event was graced by renowned Bollywood actor
Mr. Boman Irani as the Chief Guest.
The symposium featured distinguished speakers from premier healthcare and telemedicine organizations,
who shared their experiences, innovations, and future vision for telemedicine.

📅 Six-Month Educational Series

The Tele Ophthalmology Society of India (TOSI) successfully organized a six-month TOSI-ECHO Education Program dedicated to Diabetic Retinopathy. The program was designed to enhance the knowledge and clinical skills of ophthalmologists by promoting continuous learning through expert-led virtual sessions.

Conducted under the Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model, the program provided a unique platform for sharing clinical expertise, discussing challenging cases, and encouraging interactive learning among eye care professionals across India.

Every fortnight, one of the distinguished members of the Tele Ophthalmology Society of India delivered an expert lecture covering various aspects of diabetic retinopathy, including screening, diagnosis, imaging, management, tele-screening protocols, artificial intelligence, patient follow-up, and recent advances in diabetic eye care.

The TOSI-ECHO Education Program significantly contributed to strengthening the knowledge and confidence of ophthalmologists, while promoting the adoption of tele-ophthalmology for early detection and effective management of diabetic retinopathy throughout the country.
